On December 17th, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) China Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Company officially released the "2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report" for the China Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Project in Yangon, Myanmar. As the first ESG report by a state-owned enterprise in Myanmar, this report has attracted widespread attention from various sectors.

The report system reviewed the social responsibility performance and significant achievements in Myanmar after the project started, elaborating on five aspects: compliance governance, value creation, green development, employee welfare, and social responsibility. It fully demonstrated the positive role played by the project in promoting the development and utilization of oil and gas resources between China and Myanmar, promoting Myanmar's economic and social development, and deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries. 17 representatives from 10 state-owned enterprises and Chinese institutions in Myanmar, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, attended the press conference and communicated with the company on the overseas responsibilities of state-owned enterprises.
This press conference not only showcased the achievements of the project in the ESG field, but also consolidated the cooperation foundation between China and Myanmar in the oil and gas field. As a pilot demonstration project of the "the Belt and Road" and the "China Myanmar Economic Corridor", the China Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project will continue to be honest and innovative, repay the society, and inject new impetus into the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
