Recently, the Xizang Autonomous Region has made another major breakthrough in clean energy development. On April 4th, the Huaneng Holba 30 MW photovoltaic power storage project and the Huaneng Chabala 50 MW photovoltaic power storage project, invested and constructed by Huaneng Yajiang Company, successfully achieved full capacity grid connection for power generation. In addition, the largest optical storage project in Xizang, Huaneng Jiawa Phase I Optical Storage Power Station, was successfully connected to the grid on March 29. So far, three important optical storage power generation projects have been completed and put into operation in Xizang, marking a new stage in local new energy development.

It is reported that the Holba Solar Energy Storage and Power Generation Project is located in Holba Township, Zhongba County, Shigatse City, with an installed capacity of 30 megawatts and a grid type energy storage system of 6 megawatts/24 megawatts per hour; The Chabala Photovoltaic Storage and Power Generation Project is located in Semai Village, Chabala Township, Qushui County, Lhasa City, with an installed capacity of 50 megawatts and a 10 megawatt/40 megawatt hour grid type energy storage system; The Jiawa Phase I photovoltaic power generation project is located in Jiawa Village, Xiajiang Township, Qusong County, Shannan City, with an installed capacity of 250 megawatts and a 50 megawatt/200 megawatt hour energy storage system.

The three major energy storage projects mentioned above are expected to generate over 500 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, replace approximately 147500 tons of standard coal consumption annually, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 383200 tons. They have profound significance in promoting local ecological environment protection, optimizing energy structure, and rural revitalization. At the same time, the construction and operation of the project have also provided a large number of employment opportunities for the Tibetan region, further enhancing the regional comprehensive energy security capability and sustainable development level.
