Türkiye plans to launch the first round of offshore wind power bidding before the end of 2026, with the goal of completing the installation of the first batch of offshore wind turbines between 2030 and 2031. At the same time, the steady progress of bidding projects for the Renewable Energy Area (YEKA) continues to support the growth of wind power installed capacity in the country and boost investor confidence.

According to Ibrahim Erden, chairman of Türkiye Wind Energy Association (T ∨ REB), Türkiye is preparing for the first round of offshore wind power bidding, which is expected to be released by the end of 2026. The first batch of offshore wind turbines are planned to be installed between 2030 and 2031.
Elden stated that the two rounds of YEKA tenders completed in 2024 and 2025 have allocated a total of 2350 megawatts of wind power capacity to investors. He emphasized that maintaining the regularity and predictability of YEKA bidding is crucial for boosting investor confidence. It is expected that Türkiye will maintain 1000 to 1500 MW of new wind power installed capacity every year in the next few years. As the YEKA project continues to advance and more capacity is released, foreign investors' interest is gradually increasing, and market momentum is expected to further strengthen.
Elden also pointed out that the YEKA projects won in previous years will be put into operation gradually from 2025, and more projects are expected to be connected to the grid for power generation in 2026. Based on various factors, Türkiye is expected to add more than 2000 MW of wind power installed capacity by the end of 2026.
